Frequently Asked Questions
No, we don't offer any diesel engines.
The simple answer is, yes. We aim to use the highest quality products in our engine builds. Our recent experiences have revealed that we cannot trust the quality of the L92 engine blocks since these LS3 engines have been moved out of OE production. The current production L8T block represents a higher quality part. It also has design improvements and provides optimized geometry for achieving large torque output with 87 octane fuel. These are some of the reasons we selected the L8T as the best quality block to develop the powerful and reliable 402 V8 as the new standard for our crate engines.
If the product you order is in-stock and we receive the order before 2pm EST, we can usually ship the same day.
Payment for all engine conversion kits is due in full at the time of order placement.
Yes, any restocking of kits will result in a 25% restocking fee.
In our opinion, the two most cost effective Jeep Wranglers to start your build are:
- 2012 and up JK/JKU Wrangler with automatic transmission
- 2018 and up 3.6L JL/JLU Wrangler equipped with an automatic transmission.
The Jeep Gladiator JT is also a great option:
- 2020 and up 3.6L JT Gladiator equipped with an automatic transmission.
While an early model (2007 to 2011) Jeep Wrangler JK with 3.8L engine may be purchased at a relatively lower cost, they will require additional components and effort (more cost) to complete a V8 engine conversion.
Early model, 2007 to 2011, Jeep Wrangler JK/JKU 3.8L vehicles require replacement of the factory automatic transmission (42RLE), center console, shifter, TCM, and transmission wiring harness.
Our V8 crate engines and transmission kits for Jeep Wrangler JK, JL, and Gladiator JT offroad vehicles are fully integrated to work with the OEM system sending the correct data to the dash for tap shift, cruise control, and other factory installed functions.
Most likely, no. Your best bet is to consult with a custom vehicle builder or axle manufacturer about your project.
From our perspective, the OE stock axles were designed to meet a set of specifications from the vehicle manufacturer. These specifications include things like vehicle weight, engine power, tire size, and other things. When you change one or more of these specifications, the axle may not be up to the task. If your build is going to be repowered with a high-performance engine producing large amounts of torque, you should probably replace the stock OE axles. If your plan also includes larger tires, that’s even more reason to replace your OE stock axles. (If your project is a Jeep with a Dana 30 size axle, it needs to be replaced with a stronger unit.)
If you engage in “extreme” or “aggressive” driving, we suggest upgrading your running gear.
Emissions compliance is determined by your local regulatory agency. The customer is responsible for ensuring that their conversion meets any local or state emissions laws prior to the conversion process.
Bruiser Power Solutions is not liable for emissions compliance.
Bruiser Power Solutions kits rely on the factory radiator and each conversion includes radiator hoses to connect to the existing/factory radiator. The only exception would be if you have a supercharger. If you have a high mileage vehicle we may suggest replacing your old part with a new OEM quality radiator.
